Is alcohol permitted on board?
Beer and wine are welcome. Cans or plastic only. No glass allowed on the boat and no hard liquor.
Are children allowed?
Children under six years of age are not allowed. Any child over 6 must be accompanied by an adult. One adult per minor.
How should I tip the Mate?
Mates work for tips. A cash tip between 15-20% is customary.
Can I keep my catch?
You can keep any fish you catch that is legal under Connecticut Regulations. Please keep only what you and your family will eat. We want to protect our fishery.
Do I need to get a fishing license?
No, you are covered under our license. The States of Connecticut, New York, or Rhode Island do not require a fishing license on registered charter boats.
Do I need to bring fishing gear?
No. We provide all fishing tackle & bait, but if you have a favorite rod, please feel free to bring it with you. Our mates will clean and fillet your catch as well as provide you with a bag to bring them home. Please bring a cooler for your fish and any food you may wish to enjoy while underway.
What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Please wear soft soled shoes. The captain also recommends you bring sunglasses, sweatshirt, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
Are Life Jackets provided?
The Bluefin provides life jackets for all anglers and passengers. We also have a six-person life raft and an emergency beacon. Safety is always first and foremost aboard the Bluefin.
Do fishing trips include food and drink?
No, please bring your choice of food and drink onboard the boat.
How do I pay for my trip?
You can book securely on our website. The balance is due at the dock. We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
