Do I need to get a fishing license?
No, The States of Connecticut, New York, or Rhode Island do not require a fishing license on registered charter boats. You are covered under our license.


 Do I need to bring fishing gear?
No. We provide all fishing tackle & bait, but if you have a favorite rod please feel free to bring it with you. We provide bags for your filets and our mates will clean and filet your catch. Please bring a cooler for your fish and any food you may wish to enjoy while underway.


What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.  Please wear soft soled shoes. The captain also recommends you bring sunglasses, sweatshirt and a hat.  Don't forget the sunscreen.

Are Life Jackets provided?
The Bluefin provides life jackets for all anglers and passengers.  We also have a 8 man life raft and emergency beacon.  Safety is always first and foremost aboard the Bluefin.

Is alcohol permitted on board?
Beer and wine are welcome, please leave any other type of alcoholic beverage at home.


How should I tip the Mate?
Mates work for tips.  It is customary to tip 15-20%.

Do your fishing trips include food and drink?
No, please bring your choice of food and drink on board the boat.   There is a microwave available for your use.

Can I keep my catch?

Absolutely, You can keep any fish you catch that is legal under Connecticut Regulations.  Please keep only what you and your family will eat.  We want to protect our fishery.


How do I pay for my trip?

The Bluefin fishing boat accepts cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.


Are Gift Certificates available?

Yes, you may purchase gift certificates over the phone or on the boat.
